Up until a couple of weeks ago it felt more like long term babysitting. I was just waiting for a grown up to come get these kids.
But lo and behold I am the mom, these are my kids and I LOVE THEM. I can admit that I have not always felt this way but I love being a mom and I am really happy. It helps that I have great kids.
My Abby Girl
This girl is amazing. She is so smart and has the imagination of a future writer. Abby also loves to talk. Sometimes she says things that have me laughing until I hurt. Driving to Grandma Wendy's one Sunday Abby announced, "I wish that I had two mouths so that I can talk more."
Abby is also a great big sister. She is so patient and helpful. She is truly a blessing to our family.
Carter Boy
Carter is a wild, energetic, loving boy. Carter is happiest running, climbing, swinging, swimming, etc. He also is so loving. Carter loves his daddy. When I had the baby, Dean took time off work and Carter basically became Dean's shadow. Along with Daddy, Carter loves his baby brother. He wants to hold him every day. When Carter wakes up in the morning, if he doesn't see Grant right away he calls through the house, "Baby a-are you?"
Carter also loves to sing. He doesn't speak very well but he sings beautifully. Right now his favorite songs to sing are Happy Birthday and I am a Child of God. I can't wait to see how his talent develops.
Baby Grant

So far the best way I can describe Grant is easy to please. If he is fed, with a clean diaper and allowed to sleep the way he likes (on his tummy) he is content. It is amazing that he has only been here six weeks but it feels like I have known him for much longer. I am curious to see what kind of personality this little guy has.
I am blessed.

That's so funny that you say that. I was just thinking the other day that even at 32 I don't feel grown up enough to be taking care of these kids sometimes? Am I really to be trusted with them??? :)
