Christmas

Abby was very excited about Christmas this year. We HAD to write Santa, bake cookies and do all of the traditional Christmas activities. She also had a lot of questions about Santa. She wanted to know if we had to send Santa money for the gifts he was bring. I told her, "No, Santa's elves make the toys." She then asked, "Where do the elves get the pieces to make the toys?" I had to call Grandma to explain that one to her.

On Christmas Eve we went to Dockstader Family Christmas party. We had some yummy food, heard some Christmas stories and did a gift exchange. It is always nice to get to spend time with the extended family.

Christmas day Dean and I were up first. The kids were up late the night before so I finally had to wake them up. Santa visited our house and brought some gifts and goodies to our family.

After opening gifts at home we spent the rest of Christmas morning with Dean's Family. We opened gifts, had our traditional breakfast of Eggs Goldenrod made by Grandma Wendy and then we were able to talk to Jeffrey on the phone. He is serving in Germany now.

Christmas afternoon we spend with my family. We exchanged gifts and had a nice dinner. All of the sibling pooled together to buy my mom a lawn mower. Since she moved into her new house it was the last big purchase she needed to make. We also, and by we I mean mostly Rachel, put together a book of our memories of our grandparents for my mom. It has been just over a year now since my Grandma passed and we felt like it was a good time to do this for my mom.
