This year the weather was a little chilly but that did not stop the kids from having fun at the beach.
Carter feeding seagulls with Grandpa Dock and Aunt Heather
Saturday around lunch we went up to Cayucos to let the kids explore the tide pools. Carter got a feel of a sea star and Abby was pretty scared by some feisty crabs.
After a short nap we played at the beach by the house. The kids had fun digging and flying kites.
We had a yummy dinner provided by Aunt Marilyn. Then the kids snuggled together to watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
During the movie that Dean took Carter upstairs to have a diaper change. After the change, Dean was cleaning up. Carter ran for the stairs and did not stop when he got there. Those of us down stairs heard him before we saw him. We all looked over in time to see Carter tumbling down the stairs. I can't really explain what it feels like to see that. Something like having your heart sink down into your stomach and then throwing it up? Anyhow, he was fine. Some cuddles and kisses and he was no worse for wear. (Seriously not even a bruise.)
We put the kids to bed and the Men played their traditional game of dominoes. The women all watched Twilight.
Sunday we got up and headed to the nearest ward for Sacrament meeting. We went back to the beach house and packed up for home.
We took one last walk down to the beach so Abby could look for some beach treasures.
Abby and her sand dollars. (She needed something to take to preschool for show and tell.)
